Tatted Lace Green Bean Trellis
Last year, my green beans over grew their wire trellis and grew all along the back side of it and then started up onto the wall of the house. What did I learn? That these were the best green beans I ever grew before and that little trellis wasn’t going to work for this year. So I decided to “net” one. Like a salty old sailor, sitting around netting. Then I thought I could tat one just as easily since I couldn’t find my netting shuttle. I began yesterday. Of course I don’t know what I’m doing. lol Does that stop me though? No.
I know other tatter’s who garden have had the same idea. So it’s not a new one. I’ve netted a hammock before and thought it would be similar.
Okay, so I got a ladder, climbed up and measured how long I’d need. 8 feet, by 8 feet, maybe by 10, we’ll see. I’m going to hang it from the roof beams and I thought,….I’ll crochet more than 8 feet of just chain,….get those metal hook eyes and attach those to the exposed beam ends and run the chain through that. Then I’ll tie on the trellis. Hey, when you don’t know what your doing, you just make it up as you go along. I might get this right first try. We’ll see. 🙂
One thing I learned already is that it’s too big for me to work in the house. Now what do I do? I think I’ll have to go hang this, (by tying it to) my clothes line and finish it from there. I couldn’t think of another place to hang it to work on it! lol Oh mercy, this could be a mistake! haha
And in other news, here,….in my tiny world,….I spent the last 4 days making rose decorated shuttles and one of them screamed at me that I shouldn’t sell it, cause I wanted to have some fun with it.
Now I don’t, god I get tired of saying this, but it’s just true, I don’t know about a Trading Contest. Don’t know how to set one up, sighs,…..my idea is that, I want to trade these Thumb Shuttles for a pair of Tatted Original Design Earrings. Now how to get the word out? How do I set up such a thing? Should I even bother? And if I did figure it out, how to post all those entries for a trade? So many unknowns as of yet. But I’ll post this picture of the shuttles I have in mind to trade and I’ll ask around for some advise and help from online 🙂

I think your problem is going to be how to choose with whom to make the trade if you only have one shuttle to trade! Many will be interested. No idea how to do that choosing! (I did a giveaway recently on my blog, and the random choosing was the hardest!!! I wanted everyone to win!)
Yes, your right. So a contest maybe? That might be fun. Choosing would be the hardest part! Maybe a poll added too? So everyone could vote on favs?
I’d love to do a trade with you! I’ve done trades on Etsy before with a trading team, but it’s usually been with non-tatters. I think that by posting on InTatters you found a good way to get to word out to tatters. That’s how I found out about it. 🙂

There’s a couple of them, but the one I’m part of is called Trade-A-Holics. They have a Trade and Stay event every month (they start with a list of shops. If you trade with someone on the list, you get added), but you can obviously do a trade anytime. I don’t get involved most months because I’m busy, but I like it because I know a large group of traders will be in a trading mood every month.
That’s okay about the double reply. Stuff just happens online!:) I think that’s really cool about the Trading shops. I might look into that later myself. I’m really busy this time of year also, so I know what you mean!
